Love? I’m confused, seems like we’ve got something to deal with. What is love? A verb? A noun? Whatever part of speech it may be. I, myself, can’t define what love is. I remember talking to someone about this certain topic, he told me that a teacher asked him about what love means, he told the teacher that he cannot answer it because love is unexplainable for him. I do agree with him. If I were in his shoes, asked by a teacher in front of my classmates of what love means, or even when you ask me privately, probably I’ll answer the same thing, because honestly, I can’t give my own definition of love. All I know is that it’s a strong word. But think of it, if love is just a word, then why do some people keep crying on it? If love is an action, then why do some people just talk and forget? That’s what makes it very confusing.
If
love is the cause of the butterflies in my stomach whenever he’s around, the
mini heart attack I feel whenever I hear his name, the giggling when he looks
at me, or the reason why it’s better for me to stay awake because reality is
better than dreams, then maybe I’ve been in love. But, wait. What if he’s not able
to make me feel these things anymore? Does it mean I’m not in love with him
anymore? See, if this will be the way I’ll define love, then it’ll have
conditions, but then love knows nothing. When you love, there should be no
conditions. It should just be you love him not because of his looks, his
talents, or whatever, it should be because you just do. So, I don’t look
anything in him, as long as he’ll accept me for who I am and will respect
me, that can do.
It feels good being in love, knowing someone’s
waiting for you to wake up, reminds you that you’re beautiful, believes in what
you can, and of course loves you despite your flaws. Consider it love when you
are more concerned about other person’s happiness rather than yours. Not
necessarily romantic love. Love is not just all about the happiness, when you
love, expect for the unexpected. Be careful of who you will be in love with,
because once you give your heart to that someone, you are already giving them
the chance to hurt you. Love is a four-letter word, and so does pain. When you
love, you can’t get rid of getting hurt.
